Which teen star do you think has a real future in film?

Among recent teen stars Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and Amanda Bynes, who do you think has a real future in film? —Donna Gee

I have no doubt that Lindsay Lohan is the real deal as a movie actress. She’s been a star ever since she was a little girl — one that other little girls could relate to. And her work in A Prairie Home Companion is as thoughtful, mature, and appealing as her offscreen ”performance” as a self-styled pop vamp (abetted by symbiotic media gossipers) is foolish and kinda sad. But why not think outside the twinkie triangle? Between Hard Candy and X-Men: The Last Stand, 19-year-old Ellen Page (who has been working in Canadian TV since she was 10) has burst forth as a major teen talent. I’m not down with her movies Aquamarine or RV, but I think 15-year-old Joanna ”JoJo” Levesque has real style (not to mention a great big singing voice). And, to give the boys’ team a fair shake, I’m amazed at absolutely every performance I’ve seen from Rory Culkin, now 16.
