Our favorite songs from commercials -- Goldfrapp, Flint, and others almost lull us into buying products

Our favorite songs from commercials

1. What inspires the woman in this Diet Coke clip to snip her long locks into a boyish ‘do? Is it the aspartame? Or the techno throb of GOLDFRAPP‘s ”Ooh La La”?

2. THE FRAY‘s lofty, piano-driven anthem ”How to Save a Life” adds a sense of poignancy to HBO’s summer programming promo spot. It’s a three-hanky montage.

3. Even invertebrates love AFRIKA BAMBAATAA‘s electro classic ”Looking for the Perfect Beat,” as proved by a Visa ad featuring an animated breakdancing worm.

4. Our second favorite thing in the Devil Wears Prada trailer — after the frosty Meryl Streep?is the chunky trip-hop tune ”Diamond,” from British band KLINT.
