In this revival of Hay Fever, Noël Coward’s 1925 comedy of theatrical folk behaving badly, an actress called Judi plays another called Judith. Since the real-life one is Dench — who’s played a gallery of thespians, from Esme Allen (Amy’s View) and Arkadina (The Seagull) to Desiree Armfeldt (A Little Night Music) — performer and part merge to lovely and lacerating effect. Director Peter Hall orchestrates a fine ensemble (which includes rising star Dan Stevens as Dench’s son) to produce a symphony of nearly continuous laughter. The Bliss family may be horrible to guests, but they’re sheer bliss to audiences. (01144 870 534 4444)
