Are You Nervous?

Bombastic and confoundingly catchy in the grand history-plundering tradition of pop-fashion conquistadors like the Killers, Muse, the Bravery, et al., Rock Kills Kid have a fairly shallow talent pool, but the water on the surface sure is sparkly: What Are You Nervous? lacks in originality and lyrical finesse is made up for with pouty hooks. The doot-doot-doo s of first single ”Paralyzed” stick despite (or maybe because of) their inanity, and the ”Mr. Brightside”-esque anthem ”Hideaway” is equally immediate. Hardly momentous, but if pop can have its bubblegum, why can’t rock?
