John Ventimiglia, 42 — who plays restaurateur Artie Bucco on The Sopranos — is in hot water after being charged with DWI and cocaine possession in NYC on May 1. He’ll appear in court on June 12…. Meanwhile, Ventimiglia’s costar Louis Gross (a.k.a. Tony’s buff bodyguard), 23, pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge in NYC after allegedly kicking down an apartment door during a dispute on April 30.

COURTS
On May 1, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that Anna Nicole Smith, 38, can continue to fight for a piece of her billionaire late husband’s estate in federal court. The decision overturns a previous ruling that restricted her battle to Texas courts, which had already ruled against Smith…. A Florida court ruled on May 1 to dismiss a prescription-fraud charge against Rush Limbaugh, 55, if he passes random drug tests over the next 18 months. The pundit has acknowledged his past addiction to painkillers, but pleaded not guilty to the charge. His lawyer has called the agreement ”appropriate.”… Rachele Chafir sued singer Mariah Carey, 36, and her producer Jermaine Dupri, 33, on April 19, charging that they copied her song ”Sexy” in creating Carey’s hit ”It’s Like That.” Chafir is seeking unspecified damages. Carey’s camp could not be reached for comment…. Colin Farrell, 29, and former Playmate Nicole Narain, 31, have reached an undisclosed agreement in their dispute over their 2003 sex tape. (She wanted it distributed; he didn’t.) A previous ruling temporarily barred Narain from releasing the tape…. A former producer for talk-show host Maury Povich, 67, filed a $100 million sexual- harassment suit on April 24 in NYC against Povich and members of his staff. Bianca Nardi claims she was put in humiliating situations — such as being ordered to expose her body and watch pornography — while employed at Maury. NBC Universal, which produces the show, denies the claim…. In addition to seeking a restraining order against estranged husband Charlie Sheen, 40, Denise Richards, 35, is pursuing a court order stipulating that Sheen be allowed to visit their two kids only in the presence of a police officer. Among Richards’ claims: Sheen threatened to have her killed, abused prescription drugs, and frequented pornography websites featuring ”very young girls.” Sheen calls the allegations ”baseless.”

Phil Walden, 66, of Capricorn Records fame, who launched Otis Redding’s career, of lung cancer, April 23, in Atlanta…. Jay Presson Allen, 84, who earned an Oscar nod for the Cabaret screenplay, of a stroke, May 1, in Manhattan.
