'Idol': How about that Slezak?
How about that Slezak? When he heard that this week’s Idol theme was going to be, in part, songs taken from the Billboard charts, he made some educated guesses as to what the contestants would — and in some cases, should — sing. And check it out, y’all, he went two for five — sort of.
He suggested that Elliott sing Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You,” and Paris sang it. While Slezak thought Miss Bennett If You’re Nasty should have sung KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse & the Cherry Tree,” Katharine was all, “Hey, that’s a great idea,” grabbed a pair of box drummers, and knelt down on the stage (pictured) — and into this blogfather’s heart. Aw.
Fear not, The Amazing Slezak and his uncanny predictive powers will return on Monday, but in the meantime, read Whitney’s hilarious recap of last night’s episode. Her take on my beloved Katharine McPhee: “Yay, McPheever, shiny hair, pretty, etc.” Amen, sister friend!
