A college gymnast (Scott Mechlowicz) is wounded in a motorcycle accident and undergoes a healing inner journey, naturally, with the help of a mysterious gas station attendant (Nick Nolte). Sound hippie-dippy enough? Not according to Nolte, who recalls being offered the part of the athlete decades ago. ”There’s no mysticism here. It’s about finding the clarity that is truly within you.” It’s the type of theme that Nolte responds to, especially since his knee-replacement surgery, which left him in a situation similar to his character’s protégé. ”You’ve got to get everything out of your life except this, and that’s kind of great.”
