If you think the Rolling Stones sold out recently with their season-long shilling for the NFL, you shouldn’t feel disillusioned. They were sellouts from the very beginning, as you can hear in their rockin’ jingle for this 1964 commercial for Rice Krispies. (Hat tip to Goldenfiddle.) Stones fans should consider themselves lucky that Kellogg’s didn’t approach the band a year later and buy the rights to their latest hit single, or the ad would have sounded like this:
