Peter Jackson will co-write and direct The Lovely Bones, an adaptation of Alice Sebold‘s best-selling novel. ”It’s a fascinating book,” he says, ”an interesting puzzle.” After Bones, Jackson will don his Halo, exec-producing a film version of the addictive Xbox game — but what will his F/X army do in the meantime? ”They’re working on Jay Russell’s Loch Ness movie called The Waterhorse and a few hundred shots for X-Men 3,” he says, reassuringly. ”They’ll be okay.”

Demi Moore will play a jewel thief opposite Michael Caine in the heist drama Flawless; she’s also in final talks to star as a detective in the thriller Mr. Brooks alongside Kevin Costner.

Nativity has made room at the inn for 2004 Academy Award nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog) as Saint Elizabeth. The New Line film, which begins shooting in May, also features fellow Oscar darling Keisha Castle-Hughes as the Virgin Mary.
