MARRIED Singer Suzanne Vega, 46, wed Paul Mills on Feb. 11 in NYC. ”My name is Suzanne Vega/ I got hitched for the second time/ I live upstairs from you/Yes, I think you’ve seen me before….” Lisa Marie Presley (above), 38, married musician-producer Michael Lockwood (Aimee Mann) in Japan on Jan. 22.
AWARDS Brokeback Mountain picked up four BAFTAs (the British equivalent of the Oscar) on Feb. 19 including best picture, director, and supporting actor (Jake Gyllenhaal). Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote) nabbed the lead-acting honors, while Crash‘s Thandie Newton pulled off something of a surprise, winning best supporting actress.
COURTS On Feb. 15, a California appeals court affirmed Debbie Rowe’s parental rights to her two kids with Michael Jackson, 47. This could allow Rowe, 47, to continue pursuing custody of the children. Jackson’s lawyer said they are ”considering various options.”…. Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, 40, filed a $107 million suit on Feb. 16 in L.A. against convicted drug dealer Michael Harris. The suit claims that Harris attempted to extort cash from Knight by going public with allegations that the mogul funded his company with drug money. Attorneys for Harris said the suit was a ”preposterous” attempt to avoid the $107 million that Knight was previously ordered to pay Harris’ wife for allegedly forcing her out of an executive position at Death Row…. Elton John, 58, won undisclosed damages from London’s Sunday Times on Feb. 16 after a story in June 2005 claimed John wouldn’t address guests at his White Tie and Tiara Ball unless he spoke to them first. The singer will donate the sum to his AIDS charity.
CONTROVERSY A recent sex-video teaser hit the Web showing EW Monitor All-Star and ex-Creed frontman Scott Stapp, 32 (whose new bride must be over the moon), and Kid Rock, 35, in adjacent rooms apparently about to be pleasured. Note to celebs: Quit filming yourselves!

Curt Gowdy, 86, the longtime sportscaster for the Boston Red Sox and a Hall of Fame inductee, of leukemia, on Feb. 20 in West Palm Beach, Fla…. William Cowsill, 58, singer-guitarist of the ’60s pop band the Cowsills (who inspired TV’s Partridge Family), of unknown causes, on Feb. 18 in Calgary, Canada. His passing comes after the body of his brother, Cowsill bassist Barry, a victim of Hurricane Katrina, was identified on Jan. 4…. Socially conscious producer Alan M. Levin (HBO’s America Undercover), of natural causes, Feb. 13, in Maplewood, N.J. He was 79.
