YEAH YEAH YEAHS, ”GOLD LION”
The spastic art-rock ruffians prep for March 28’s Show Your Bones with this cryptic single marked by Karen O’s banshee wails. Not too hard or too soft, its escalating fury is just right. Buy it on iTunes or stream it for free in the News section of the band’s site

WITCH, ”SEER”
Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis lends his drum smacking skills to this headbang quartet. Sample their Sabbath-inspired sludge symphonies with ”Seer,” an eight-minute epic propelled by one very big riff. Download the track for free here (PC USERS: RIGHT-CLICK on the link above and save to your desktop. MAC USERS: CONTROL-CLICK on the link to save to your desktop.)

PETRA HADEN, ”GOD ONLY KNOWS”
Following her striking, a cappella take on The Who Sell Out, the gifted virtuoso applies her vox-only technique to this Beach Boys classic. Sans instruments, the song becomes new again. Download the track for free at the artist’s site

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, ”JUNGLELAND (LIVE)”
Just out on DVD, the Boss’s 1975 performance at London’s Hammersmith Odeon is a worthy addition to his daunting canon. Now the show’s audio — including a majestic version of the epic ”Jungleland” — is available online. Buy it on iTunes
