How white-hot is Curious George? Just ask Jack Johnson (pictured). Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George, released by Johnson and Friends on the singer’s Brushfire label, debuts at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard album chart, with sales of 163,000. In 2003, Johnson’s In Between Dreams entered the chart at No. 2, but of course, the surfer dude didn’t have a powerful animated monkey in his corner then.

If you’ve got a sudden hankerin’ for more Johnson music and info, you can always pay a visit to his official site to catch the video for Sing-a-Longs‘ first single, “Upside Down” (click on ”view bonus videos”), or check out his ”Sessions” concert at AOL Music. Better still, you can read EW’s interview with Johnson about what influenced his new kid-friendly set. Enjoy!
