The Hidden Land

Bluegrass-banjo ace Fleck spent 15 years exploring classical music, Americana, and electric jazz fusion — which is the focus of The Hidden Land. Reuniting the five-string whiz with the Flecktones, Hidden boasts typically impressive writing and improv, but the group’s sound hasn’t aged well. The slap-bass solos, gooey soprano sax, and tinny electric drums will keep all but hardcore fans at arm’s length.
