Was anyone able to make sense of Oprah’s interview with Dave Chappelle this afternoon?

He certainly made it clear that he was under a lot of pressure after signing a $50 million deal with Comedy Central to produce a third and fourth season of his smash hit Chappelle’s Show. And it was interesting that he mentioned the fear that some of his sketches had become ”socially irresponsible” as one of his reasons for bolting the series last April with only a handful of third-season episodes completed.

Still, his uneasy sitdown with the queen of daytime TV left a lot of unanswered questions: To be specific, is the funnyman really going to return to Chappelle’s Show? And when he said that he was ”more than willing” to finish what he started, if half the proceeds went ”to the people,” does that mean that I can expect a fat royalty check in my mailbox come 2007?

Are you ready for more Chappelle?
