Happy New York Fashion Week readers! It’s time to view the Fall 2006 collections and participate in our favorite Olympic sport: judging. Olympus Fashion Week is not even a day old and we already have an issue: No more black tights!

With that out of the way, we can continue on with’s complete coverage of Fashion Week. With most major shows beginning on Feb. 3 (and lasting until Feb. 10), the only thing to truly talk about today were the parties last night:

IT’S ALL IN THE JEANS Adriano Goldschmied (AG) Jeans celebrated a new store launch in Soho with the help of none other than PR diva Lizzie Grubman and her associates. While the store was beautiful (and bumpin’, thanks to music by DJ Clue), the biggest star at the party was, well, Lizzie Grubman.

MISS SIXTY… MILLION DOLLAR PARTY! Miss Sixty, the mall-friendly ladies line, held a runway show attended by Mira Sorvino, Carson Kressley, and Ashanti (top) featuring their Fall 2006 collection, which was typical rock & roll cuteness, if a tad predictable. Later, actress Asia Argento cohosted a cocktail party and dinner with the likes of Natasha Beddingfield, Ashanti, and Kressley. A few other highlights:

PETA ALERT, PT. 1 The pregnant Sorvino showed up in a J. Lo-circa-2001 floppy hat and a fur-trimmed winter coat, but the ensemble only lasted through cocktail hour, most likely due to the pitying looks shot by the fashion-forward group.

PETA ALERT, PT. 2 American Idol castoff Mario Vasquez (top) had the most interesting fashion statement of the night: He channelled Davy Crocket by sporting — we kid you not — a raccoon-skin cap. The sighting raised two questions. 1) How did you get invited? and 2) Are you some kind of pioneer?

AFTER GLOW After dinner, a rockin’ afterparty took place at New York’s Capitale, complete with celebs, celeb-impostors, and copious amounts of champagne. The sultry Kelis entertained the crowd with a live performance.
