-You don’t have to have three names to act in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie (like his regular players Philip Seymour Hoffman, Philip Baker Hall, and John C. Reilly), but it helps. So Daniel Day-Lewis is a natural to star in There Will Be Blood, Anderson’s forthcoming adaptation of Upton Sinclair’s Oil!, a saga about an oil wildcatter in Texas in the early 20th century.

-Following up his action hits Four Brothers and 2 Fast 2 Furious, director John Singleton suggests his upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy’s spy thriller Without Remorse will be more inspired by Clancy’s videogames than his novels. Producing the film will be former most-feared-man-in-Hollywood Mike Ovitz — he’s back, baby!

-With Hoodwinked the No. 1 film in the country this week, it’s no wonder the ‘toon’s creators are already working on a sequel. Tentatively titled Hood vs. Evil, it’ll focus on Hansel and Gretel.
