As predicted, it was a big night for biopics and politically provocative movies at the 63rd annual Golden Globes. Brokeback Mountain won four awards, including Best Picture (Drama) Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Original Song. In the Musical or Comedy category, Walk the Line won three awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix), and Actress (Reese Witherspoon).

On the TV side, ABC was the most honored network, with four prizes, including Best Drama Series (Lost), Best Comedy Series (Desperate Housewives), and Dramatic Acting awards for Commander in Chief‘s Geena Davis and Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sandra Oh. Absentee Paul Newman won the supporting actor prize for his roguish grandpa in HBO’s Empire Falls, which also won Best Miniseries. Mary-Louise Parker, who plays a pot-dealing suburban mom on Showtime’s Weeds, was the upset winner in the Best Actress in a Comedy category; her four opponents were all from Desperate Housewives. Here is the full list of winners.
