Box Office Bull's-eye: ''Unpredictable'' results
Yes, I made a New Year’s resolution to keep you informed ina more timely way about the results of our weekly prediction game. But Idecided to break my vow early — to end any suspense about when my bad habitswould return. Hooray for bad habits!
Meanwhile, even louder hoorays and celebratory noises go outto Ramsey Bove — the only one of nearly 850 players who missed just onequestion in the 11th round. Hisundoing: Mary J. Blige’s ”Breakthrough,”which he picked as the top-selling album of December’s last week when that honor actuallywent to Jamie Foxx’s ”Unpredictable.” (Foxx’s great singing in ”Ray” seemsto have inspired sales more than the mixed reviews for his album.)
The box-office for the weekend of Dec. 30 posed another challenge. Once again, the continuedsuccess of ”Narnia” took many players by surprise — especially since wedidn’t even list it as a contender for the top spot. Another surprise: “King Kong” hung in atnumber two, despite a relative lack of enthusiasm for the film.
We’re still looking for a winner, so be sure to enter thisweek’s game.
