OK, maybe Jamie Foxx can be given a pass, since he was a classically trained musician before he found fame as an actor. Still, his new album Unpredictable is one of many new discs recorded by actors not known primarily for their singing. The Toronto Globe and Mail has a hilarious, if less than kind look at the new recordings by Foxx, Lindsay Lohan, Peter Gallagher (left), and the stars of Walk the Line. The one upside to this not-promising trend: Now that genuine music stars like Ja Rule and Ashanti will play private functions for the right price, maybe you can book Foxx or Gallagher to perform at your daughter’s bat mitzvah.
