'Ocean's Eleven' + politics = 'Munich'?!
Maybe it’s the cold weather (time for the Brrrr-bury scarves, people!), but things just keep getting weirder and weirder around PopWatch HQ today. Like this conversation I had with a fellow editor:
Editor1 (3:12:26 PM): Sooooo, I saw Munich (right) the other day, and I can’t believe I’m the only person who was constantly reminded of Ocean’s Eleven (left).
Slezak (3:12:48 PM): Okay, not that I’ve seen it yet, but that’s Krazee with a K.
Editor1 (3:13:09 PM): Why?
Slezak (3:13:48 PM): You mean Munich, the Steven Spielberg political thriller about the assassins who seek revenge on the Palestinians who killed Israeli Olympic athletes at the 1972 Games in Munich, right?
Editor1 (3:14:09 PM): Yes.
Slezak (3:14:22 PM): And Ocean’s Eleven, the light-hearted caper about pals who rob a casino?
Editor1 (3:14:59 PM): Yes! Think about it: The Rat Pack of boys, the scheming… I’m telling you, Munich is Ocean’s Eleven + politics. Although Ocean’s Eleven was about an hour shorter…
Slezak (3:15:30 PM): Um, how much caffeine have you had today?
Editor1 (3:15:49 PM): You wait and see; you’ll come to the dark side. And just so you know, I really liked Munich. I’m just sayin’…
Slezak (3:16:16 PM): Alrighty, then. Keep in touch.
