It’s one thing to be a hillbilly-deluxe rebel, another to be a parody of one. Such is the problem with Big & Rich on their second album, Comin’ to Your City; the duo can’t decide if they want to harmonize on sturdy ballads or, more often, indulge in frantic, cartoonish beer-ad novelties that would make Charlie Daniels cringe. They may think drooling over a ”hot señorita” to a metal Bee Gees riff (”Jalapeno”) challenges the Nashville status quo, when it’s just an affront to good music.
