Timeless

Following her Valentine’s Day mini-LP, My Heart for Hallmark — a fairly accurate matching of brand sensibilities — Martina McBride delivers her finest record, Timeless, a set of 18 classics (Hank, Merle, Loretta, etc.) that she mostly nails, keeping her tendency toward over-singing in check, with arrangements and production that are remarkably faithful. That being the case, some may ask: Why bother? To which we say, with songs and a voice this great, why not?
