Ever wanted to see U2, Foo Fighters, Alison Krauss, and Jerry Lee Lewis on the same bill? They’re all part of ”I Walk the Line: A Night for Johnny Cash,” CBS’ tribute concert on Nov. 16. The November sweeps stunt is, not coincidentally, a promo for Walk the Line, opening in theaters two days later. The movie’s stars, Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, will host, along with Dennis Quaid (who famously played Lewis on film). Also performing: Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, and Shooter Jennings, who plays his dad Waylon in the film. Yeah, it’ll be a long infomercial, but it’s hard to argue with a lineup like that. Wish CBS would add Social Distortion to the bill, though; they do a great cover of ”Ring of Fire.”
