Coming next year: the iPod toothbrush?

I’m sure Wednesday’s announcement about the video iPod, along with the day-after-broadcast availability of downloadable episodes of shows like Desperate Housewives (at $1.99 a pop) is hugely momentous in ways we (or at least I) can’t yet fathom. Already, industry experts are arguing about the possible impact on the TV networks, while ABC affiliates are grumbling about the online deal. On the other hand, this could be the kind of revenue stream that keeps worthy but low-rated shows like Arrested Development or Veronica Mars alive.
Anyone want to play pundit and tell us (or at least me) what it all means?
