Admit it, you watched Saturday Night Live the other night just to see how Ashlee Simpson would do. It certainly looked and sounded to me like she was singing live this time, without pre-recorded help. (Especially since there were moments when she was, in American Idol parlance, a little pitchy.) There were no big surprises, no big screwups, and not even any carefully-scripted gags alluding to last year’s fiasco; aside from Ashlee’s brief reference to her appearance last year during her introduction to her first song, you’d never have known this was a performer who felt she had anything to make up for.

How would you rate her performance, PopWatchers? Is all forgiven? Or were you unconvinced?
