The crossover dancehall sensation returns with every intention of setting the dance floor ablaze, but no matter how hard he smacks his drumsticks together, Sean Paul’s third CD, The Trinity, never ignites the five-alarm fires of previous hits ”Get Busy” and ”Like Glue.” Though infectious, the Jamaican’s baritone grunts and bouncy riddims feel monotonous and overly familiar, with the notable exception of ”Never Gonna Be the Same,” a somber and sparkling eulogy for his fallen brethren.
