Will & Grace

I’m not exactly sad that Will & Grace is entering its final season; the show is creatively played out, without any fresh territory left to explore. Still, its four stars, under James Burrows’ direction, are as nimble a group of farceurs as any ever on television, and it was nice to see in last night’s season opener that they could even pull it off live. There were only a couple cringe-worthy moments, when Debra Messing (near left, with costar Eric McCormack) and Sean Hayes nearly failed to rein in their cases of the giggles, but otherwise no disasters. (In fact, the show went off so smoothly that Associated Press critic Frazier Moore was disappointed. Schadenfreude much?)

Anyone else see this episode? Anyone still watching this show?
