She had her baby, y’all! Britney Spears, 23, and husband Kevin Federline, 27, welcomed a boy on Sept. 14, perhaps named Preston, perhaps named Michael… reps declined to say. It’s the first child for Spears and the third for Federline, who has two children from a previous relationship.
Crossing Jordan‘s Jerry O’Connell, 31, popped the question to X-Men 3‘s Rebecca Romijn, 32, on Sept. 18. It will be the first marriage for O’Connell and the second for Romijn, who was previously wed to actor John Stamos.
Model Kate Moss, 30, was fired by European clothing giant H&M as the model for their Stella McCartney rollout after photos of Moss apparently doing cocaine surfaced in London’s Daily Mirror. H&M reps said that the model was ”inconsistent with their stance against drugs.” Moss’ representatives had no comment.
Country singer Trace Adkins, 43, entered a Minnesota hospital after a concert Sept. 16 and underwent surgery for an abdominal inflammatory infection. He is expected to make a full recovery…. Missy Elliott, 34, will undergo surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon. The rapper, who sustained the injury during a Sept. 14 rehearsal for an upcoming performance, is expected to make a full recovery.
On Sept. 16, rocker Courtney Love, 41, was named in a lawsuit filed by Kristin King, claiming that Love attacked King at a mutual friend’s apartment while King slept on the couch. Earlier that day, Love was sentenced by an L.A. judge to 180 days in a rehab facility in lieu of jail time for violating the terms of her probation by relapsing into drug and alcohol use…. On Sept. 15, an L.A. judge sentenced photographer John Rutter, 43, to four years in jail for forging Cameron Diaz’s signature on a photo consent form. Rutter, who had taken semi-nude photos of Diaz when she was a struggling model, was convicted in July on felony charges of forgery, perjury, and attempted grand theft after attempting to extort $3 million from the actress…. Jimmy James Johnson, 27, who punched hip-hop producer Dr. Dre at the 2004 Vibe awards in L.A., was sentenced to one year in prison and three years’ probation after pleading guilty Sept. 14 to felony assault…. Christian Slater, 36, accepted a conditional dismissal of the misdemeanor charge that he groped a 43-year-old woman in NYC last May. As part of the Sept. 19 plea bargain, the actor, who has maintained his innocence, must keep his hands clean for the next six months.

Sid Luft, 89, onetime manager/husband of Judy Garland and stepfather of Liza Minnelli, Sept. 15, of a heart attack, in L.A. Luft produced 1954’s A Star Is Born as well as many of Garland’s famous concerts…. Joel Hirschhorn, 67, who co-wrote Oscar-winning songs for The Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure, Sept. 17, of a heart attack, in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
