Newsweek is fixated on 'Superman''s preview package
Newsweek’s visit to the Superman Returns set is posted online, complete with audio commentary, a couple of photos, and a handful of spoilers about Clark Kent (Brandon Routh, left), his strained relationship with Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth), and his violent confrontation with Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey). Yet the biggest scoop here has to do with the Man of Steel’s codpiece. Costume designer Louise Mingenbach explains:
”There was more discussion about Superman’s ‘package’ than anything else on the suit,” she says, laughing. ”Was it too big? Was it not big enough? Was it too pointy? Too round? It was somebody’s job for about a month just working on codpiece shapes. It was crazy.”
Now, that’s the way to drum up advance interest in a movie whose premiere is still 10 months away.
