Six Feet Under closed its final caskets on Aug. 21 with a decades-spanning ad for the Toyota Prius. (Note to Claire: People with entry-level jobs in New York City don’t have cars.) As Claire drove her hybrid into the sunset to the pulse of Sia’s ”Breathe Me,” we glimpsed a future of loves fulfilled, happiness achieved, and the worst wigs since Nicole Kidman’s in The Stepford Wives.

RUTH O’CONNOR FISHER Dies at age 79
Ruth finally embraces her inner hippie and moves in with her sister, Sarah. With family (even the late Nathaniel and Nate) at her bedside, she drifts away.

KEITH DWAYNE CHARLES Dies at age 61
Keith makes an honest man of David, with Durrell and Anthony the best man to each groom. Years later, Keith, owner of a security company, is gunned down by thieves.

DAVID JAMES FISHER Dies at age 75
David tutors Durrell (who gets married and has three kids; Anthony is revealed to be gay) in the family biz. Beside his new beau, David recalls Keith and drops dead.

HECTOR FEDERICO DIAZ Dies at age 75
Rico leaves Fisher & Diaz to open his own mortuary with wife Vanessa. While vacationing, Rico drops dead — is this a trend? — in front of his beloved spouse.

BRENDA CHENOWITH Dies at age 82
Brenda finally finds love with Daniel Nathanson, with whom she has son Forrest. While brother Billy blathers on about emotional issues, Brenda drops dead.

CLAIRE SIMONE FISHER Dies at age 101
Claire moves to New York but reunites with Republican Ted at her mother’s funeral and marries him. More than a century old, Claire closes her eyes for the last time.
