Looking at the latest rap star feuds
Last March, pressured by fans to end a vicious feud, 50 Cent and the Game embraced at a Harlem press conference and called for an end to the rap wars. It was a noble display, but that hasn’t stopped new combatants from jumping into the ring.
50 CENT VS. NAS
Punch
On ”Piggy Bank,” from March’s The Massacre, 50 called Nas’ wife Kelis a ”bitch” and the rapper a ”sucker for love.”
Counterpunch
Nas struck back this month on the underground ”MC Burial”: ”You a sucker for death/If I’m a sucker for love/. . .Don’t let me change your body frame to blue fog” (huh?).
LIL’ CEASE VS. LIL’ KIM
Punch
Junior M.A.F.I.A. don Lil’ Cease testified against his ex-pal/collaborator at her perjury trial.
Counterpunch
Kim sued her lil’ friend to stop him from using an image of her on a DVD. On Sept. 13’s The Naked Truth, she stings like a Queen Bee: ”F— Junior M.A.F.I.A. and anyone who rides with them.”
P. DIDDY VS. ROSIE O’DONNELL
Punch
Hip-hop’s Mr. Congeniality ruffled feathers with a July party.
Counterpunch
”Sometime around 10, Puffy. . .my neighbor here in Miami had a fireworks show right in his backyard,” O’Donnell wrote on her website. ”I had four crying kids and a puppy who peed himself whimpering in terror.” Peed, did he?
