I’m not sure Lara Flynn Boyle’s been off the air long enough for me to miss her, but the veteran of The Practice and Twin Peaks is making a comeback this fall, joining the cast of NBC’s Vegas as the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino. (I wonder if by ”flamboyant,” they mean she’ll wear fetching ballerina garb to work?) Meanwhile, another slender former TV assistant district attorney, Law & Order‘s Angie Harmon, has been added to the lineup of NBC’s new fertility clinic drama, Inconceivable.

Both of these high-profile returns to the tube got me thinking about some other nearly forgotten small-screen actresses who’d be a huge asset to any series — if some smart casting agent would just give ’em a chance. Heading up my hit list: Profiler‘s Ally Walker, That’s Life‘s Heather Paige Kent, and Felicity‘s Tangi Miller. Now it’s your turn: Which TV also-ran deserves the full Teri Hatcher treatment, and a return to magazine covers everywhere? And could Boyle or Harmon be on that path already?
