I’m certainly intrigued by the concept behind the pay-to-get-played Internet radio station American Idol Underground, an idea that raises several questions: Is there anything truly ”underground” about a station named for the country’s most popular TV show? Will musicians cough up 50 bucks for guaranteed airplay at the risk of being dubbed the next William Hung? Will Idol‘s pop-lovin’ viewers tune in to hear rockers, rappers, and Christian music artists? Conversely, will rockers want to be associated with Idol? (Even Bo Bice is trying to disassociate himself from the show.)

What do you think? Is this a good idea? Would you prefer the visual anonymity of an online talent audition to the potential humiliation of being insulted by Simon Cowell before millions of TV viewers?
