New York City police say they arrested Christian Slater, 35, on the morning of May 31 for groping an unidentified woman on the street ”for no legitimate purpose.” The actor pleaded not guilty to ”forcible touching” and third-degree sexual abuse and is due back in court July 14. . . .On May 18, French police arrested Chechen Bislan Ismailov, 25, in connection with the murder of controversial Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam last November. Dutch police say they believe Ismailov is an associate of the alleged killer, Mohammed Bouyeri. Van Gogh’s body was found with a note threatening to kill the writer of van Gogh’s film Submission, a critique of violence against women in Islamic society. Ismailov and Bouyeri could not be reached for comment.
