This Ten Little Indians-esque FBI psychological thriller has been in the can so long that even director Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea) is a bit hazy about when he actually shot the film. ”Good question. I don’t remember,” he laughs. A long-suffering benchwarmer during the Disney-Miramax standoff, Mindhunters was shot in 2002 in Holland for under $40 million, thanks to a generous tax break from the government. Unsurprisingly, the ensemble cast (featuring Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, LL Cool J, and Kathryn Morris) had a smokin’ two months living in Amsterdam for the shoot. ”The main thing was to cut down on people’s fun,” says Harlin, ”make sure they showed up for work.”
