”I wrote it for Bill, but not for the Bill Murrayisms we [usually] associate with him,” explains director Jim Jarmusch. ”I wanted to do something where Bill had a different kind of range.” The Oscar nominee stars as an aging Don Juan who, after discovering he has a 20-year-old son, road-trips to reconnect with former lovers (Jessica Lange, Sharon Stone, Tilda Swinton, and Frances Conroy) who might be the kid’s mother. Jeffrey Wright plays the neighbor who persuades Murray to take the journey. Not a bad cast. ”Yeah, now I’m getting intimidated!” laughs Jarmusch. ”If you line ’em all up — whoa!”
