Thanks to Apple, the trippy, shagalicious ”Jerk It Out” (recycled from an earlier album) is the song you’ll recognize on Paper Tigers. But these Swedes have far more to offer than iPod-ad jingles. Sounding more British (and loutish) than ever, Caesars have made the album Oasis haven’t since Bill Clinton left office: one meaty, vigorous track after another of modern-Mersey-beat pop, with credible forays into twisted-love garage (”May the Rain”) and Moody Blues-unplugged balladry (”Winter Song”). All retro rock should sound this good.
