Williams sisters plan tennis reality show
Williams sisters plan tennis reality show. Venus and Serena's six-episode look at their lives on and off the court will air on ABC Family in July
Like Venus and Serena Williams aren’t busy enough. Besides being top-ranked tennis pros, Venus has her own interior design firm, while Serena has been acting in guest spots on TV shows, from My Wife and Kids to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Now, the siblings can add reality-show stardom to their résumés. ABC Family announced Monday that it’s building a six-episode reality series around the sisters, which will explore their lives on and off the court. Producing the series, which premieres in July, are MTV reality series vets Fernando Hernandez and Robert Pura.
”We’re very excited to branch out into a new medium,” Serena Williams said in a statement. ”The series will provide our fans with an up-close, inside look at our lives away from the tennis courts.” Venus Williams added, ”And since we are sisters, ABC Family is the perfect home for our new series.” Considering the wardrobe-malfunction-courting outfits Serena sometimes wears to her matches, can a ”family”-friendly channel handle these sisters?
