What are the best examples of good actors in bad shows?

Who do you think are the best examples of really good actors in shows that are not so good? — J.R.
There are loads of actors who rise above their material every week. I get some smiles from CBS’ The King of Queens, but it’s nowhere near the joy I receive from the weird, biting stand-up of series regular Patton Oswalt. Jennifer Finnigan gave NBC’s Crossing Jordan a nice jab as a persnickety intern last season?now she’s being wasted on NBC’s desperately uncute Committed. Emily Procter, who stole scenes as Ainsley, another bossy blonde, on The West Wing, should be freed from the weary confines of CBS’ CSI: Miami. (The two could play type-A sisters in a sitcom. A good one.) And for a totally leftfield offering, how about Grant Show? The likable actor deserves a supporting berth on a decent series (his former Melrose Place costars Laura Leighton and Doug Savant have made happy landings on ABC’s Eyes and Desperate Housewives, respectively). Someone rescue him from Fox’s limp supernatural series, Point Pleasant, and put his scoundrel persona to good use on a juicy soap.
