Seventeen-year-old Lydia Carson is one screwed-up girl. Abused by stepfathers, she ran away from home and now prowls Los Angeles, using her good looks to score her next high. But when a botched drug-trafficking job turns violent, Lydia becomes the target of a relentless and mysterious foe. Desperate, she turns to the only person she can think of — the ex-con father she barely knows. On the lam together, they try to identify Lydia’s pursuer and, predictably, bond along the way. Craig dazzles with slick L.A. gang-speak, elaborate shoot-outs, and extensive knowledge of the Mexican Mafia. The filial intimacy, however, doesn’t come as easily. Blood Father drips with blood, but there’s not enough heart to keep it pumping.
