Mike Logan, will each appear on 11 episodes of the drama, NBC announced Feb. 8. ”It’s a really clever way to give me some rest,” says D’Onofrio, who was hospitalized for exhaustion last fall. ”It makes me able to deliver what I’m supposed to deliver.”

Eddie Pamilton and Ilex Harris filed suit against Lindsay Lohan, 18, Feb. 2 in L.A., alleging that on Aug. 3 Lohan crashed into their car. The pair seeks unspecified damages…. Donna Clarkson filed a wrongful-death suit seeking unspecified damages against producer Phil Spector, 64, Feb. 2 in L.A. Clarkson claims Spector shot her daughter Lana on Feb. 3, 2003. Spector remains free on bail pending a murder trial. His lawyer says, ”Nowadays, it’s de rigueur that people file these civil suits.”… Pop singer Britney Spears, 23, filed suit Feb. 4 in NYC against a group of European insurance companies for failing to pay a $9.8 million claim submitted after a knee injury she says forced her to cancel her 2004 tour. The companies claim Spears failed to report an old injury. Brit says the omission was ”innocent.”
CBS tapped Face the Nation anchor Bob Schieffer, 68, as interim anchor of the CBS Evening News Feb. 2. He will take over March 10 from Dan Rather, 73, who steps down on his 24th anniversary.
