A Healthy Distrust

After years of poetry slams, Sage Francis can fit absurd numbers of words into tidy verses bursting with rage against everyone from political fat cats to the brats who protest them: ”You’re all ‘Give me ethnicity or give me dreads!’/Trustafundian rebel without a cause for alarm.” The rapper’s ferocity on A Healthy Distrust makes him a good fit for punk label Epitaph. But his collaboration with indie rocker Will Oldham (”Sea Lion”) suggests his crossover appeal will be Healthy.
