Dave Karger sizes up the Best Supporting Actor race

Predicted Winner Morgan Freeman, Million Dollar Baby
Possible Upsets Thomas Haden Church, Sideways; Clive Owen, Closer
No Way Alan Alda, The Aviator; Jamie Foxx, Collateral

The only sure thing in this category is that it won?t be Jamie Foxx. Beyond that, it?s anyone?s guess. Thomas Haden Church and Clive Owen certainly provided memorable comedic and dramatic turns, respectively, last year. And either could end up with the trophy. But if there?s going to be a ”lifetime achievement” prize among the acting categories, this?ll be it. After losing three times previously, Freeman should finally find himself up on Oscar?s stage.
