Norah Jones and the Handsome Band: Live in 2004

She may sit atop the pop-singer heap, but Norah Jones is a laid-back country musician at heart. That spirit shines through this concert film taped in Nashville — overtly, in duet with Dolly Parton (”Creepin’ In”) and in three-part harmony with David Rawlings and Gillian Welch (”Loretta”), and, more subtly, when her band lends gentle sway to classic rockers (The Band’s ”Life Is a Carnival”) and her own hits (”Don’t Know Why”). The minidocs seem forced, but the performances are poised.
