Since former Saturday Night Live cast member Jimmy Fallon has found a new comedic partner — Queen Latifah, in this week’s Taxi — it’s only fair that Tina Fey do the same. This weekend, Amy Poehler stepped in to co-anchor ”Weekend Update,” the show’s news segment. Poehler and Fey will be the first-all female ”Update” team in the show’s history, according to an NBC press release. Poehler began her ”Update” career by claiming that John Kerry’s position on the war in Iraq is very clear: He’s ”forgainst it.”

The segment also included a surprise guest appearance by James Gandolfini, commenting on New Jersey mayor Jim McGreevey’s sex scandal as an unnnamed ”New Jersey resident” who looked and sounded a lot like Tony Soprano. In addition, Horatio Sanz appeared as a Fallon-infatuated Elton John, insisting on referring to Poehler as ”not Jimmy” and ”the other girl.”
