To prepare for her next gig, Star Jones may have to shop someplace a little fancier than Payless Shoes. This Sunday, the cohost of ABC’s The View will be stationed on the red carpet outside the Emmys, in Joan Rivers’ old post, as the top celebrity greeter and interviewer for E!’s Live from the Red Carpet arrivals show.

Last week, E! announced that it had hired Discovery Channel style maven Robert Verdi (Surprise by Design) as its new top fashion cop to replace Joan and Melissa Rivers (who left earlier this summer for the TV Guide Channel) on the red carpet and as host of Fashion Police, which will now be a weekly series. Turns out Verdi is just one of a squadron of fashion cops and pundits who’ll be policing the red carpet at the Emmys for E! Besides Jones and Verdi, the network’s pre-Emmy correspondents will also include E! alumna Brooke Burke (of Wild On? and Rank fame), former Soul Train host Mystro Clark, and former Bachelor star Andrew Firestone.
