Lindsay Lohan wins four Teen Choice awards. Other big winners include ''The O.C.'' and Usher
Lindsay Lohan showed off some new trophies on Sunday night. The 18-year-old was one of the big winners at the Teen Choice awards, earning four citations, for Best Movie Actress in a Comedy, Best Movie Hissy Fit, Best Movie Blush (all for her performance in ”Mean Girls”) and Movie Breakout Star Actress (for both ”Mean Girls” and ”Freaky Friday.”)
Other big winners included ”The O.C.” and Usher, taking home four prizes each. ”The O.C.” was cited for Best TV Show, Drama/Action Adventure; Best TV Actor, Drama/Adventure, for Adam Brody; TV Breakout Show; and TV Breakout Star, Female, for Mischa Barton. Usher earned his trophies — full-sized surfboards — for Best Album (”Confessions”), Best R&B Artist, and for the song ”Yeah,” which earned Best R&B Track and Best Hook Up, for the singer’s collaboration with Lil’ Jon on the track. Others receiving multiple shout-outs included ”50 First Dates,” ”American Wedding,” Adam Sandler, Ashton Kutcher, Blink-182, and Ashlee Simpson. There were more than three dozen awards, selected in online polling of readers of Teen People (which, like EW.com, is part of Time Warner.)
”Simple Life” stars Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie hosted the ceremony, held at Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheater. Fox will broadcast the show on Wednesday.
