All work and no play makes Jack Bauer a dull boy. On the upcoming season of Fox’s ”24,” during the sleepless agent’s next busy day, he’ll apparently find a few minutes for romance. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kiefer Sutherland will have a love interest this season, in the form of Kim Raver, who just ended a five-year stint as Kimberly Zambrano on ”Third Watch.” Her character will be Audrey Raines, an aide to the secretary of defense.

Also joining the cast is Shohreh Aghdashloo, the Iranian-born actress whose starmaking performance in ”House of Sand and Fog” earned her an Oscar nomination earlier this year. She’ll play the wife of a Middle Eastern businessman, to be played by Nestor Serrano (”The Day After Tomorrow”). Guess this means we won’t be seeing too much of Serrano on NBC’s upcoming drama series ”LAX,” in whose pilot episode he appears as the mayor of Los Angeles. Rounding out the cast will be Louis Lombardi, best known for his frequent appearances on HBO’s ”The Sopranos” as FBI agent Skip Lipari, who’ll switch agencies and work at the Counter Terrorism Unit on ”24.”
