He’s stylish, he’s outspoken, and he brandishes a curling iron as skillfully as a sword-wielding Aragorn (with much better hair). He’s Jonathan Antin of ”Blow Out,” Bravo’s reality show set in his Beverly Hills salon. Antin dishes on his mane event.

Why did you decide to do the show?

For me it was just a great opportunity to put hairstylists on the map, but on a different mapsort of on the upper-echelon-of-professionals map. I think of my hairstylists as doctors and lawyers — really important people that make great money and have securities and investments. I wanted to show all that.

Is there a lot of hair-related drama on the show?

I don’t love watching people bitch and rag on me. It kind of makes me look a little more mean than I actually am. But you know what? I’m human and I have my moments. I hope I look like a nice guy, because I think I am.

What celeb has the best hair?

Kate Bosworth. I just love that long, hot, sexy-babe hair. In the 20 years that I’ve been doing hair, you can never go wrong with that babe, pussycat-doll, hot look.

Do you ever have bad-hair days?

I don’t really think about my hair that much. It’s like why directors don’t stay home and record themselves in their own movies. I’m really more focused on the way other people look.
