Where do you go when Hollywood’s promises of fulfillment come up empty? Well, if you can’t wait until ”The Passion” hits DVD (Aug. 31) for your pop-culture absolution, try the Spiritual Cinema Circle (, which each month delivers exclusive, ”spiritually themed” DVDs for subscribers looking for a little uplift. Cofounded by producer Stephen Simon (”What Dreams May Come”), the service scours the festival circuit for feel-good features, docs, and shorts (a current fave is ”Jillian’s Vantage,” about a date between a blind therapist and an emotionally wounded man). And after three months, more than 7,000 folks from 52 countries have signed on.

”People are hungry for this sort of entertainment,” says Simon. ”It helps people not feel so alone in the world.”
